This nineteenth-century French heirloom produces a little round carrot that is a delight to grow and eat! Parisian is an early orange-red carrot that grows almost more like the shape of a large radish. Excels in clay or rocky soil where other carrots have problems developing properly. Its flavor is legendary and is highly sought after by gourmet restaurants.
Imperator 58 Carrot *Heirloom*
This Danver carrot is a garden staple! Imperator 58 carrot grows to around 9″ long and 1 1/2″ wide. It has a very sweet and tender flavor. Smooth, large, fine-grained, long, tapered roots. Imperator 58 carrot performs best in loose, friable soils.
Royal Chantenay Carrot *Heirloom*
The Royal Chantenay is popular for juicing because of its dark orange color, sweet flavor, and shape that fits into most juicers. The shoulders can reach 2 1/2 inches across, and it grows 5-6 inches long, tapering to a blunt point. Carrots are uniform with strong dark green tops, this variety is easy to pull in most soils. A good choice for root cellar storage.
Scarlet Nantes Carrot *Heirloom*
This mediun length carrot reaches 6-7 inches in length, about 1 ½ inches in diameter. The Scarlet Nante carrot is brilliant orange, blunt, and cylindrical. It's sweet roots are very delicate and fine-grained, containing almost no core. The high moisture content of this carrot makes it a natural for juicing and fine for bunching or storage. Originally from France but has been a long time favorite in the United States.
